DEVELOPMENT OF SOFT SKILLS BY MEANS OF INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGIES (TEXTBOOKS) IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The article deals with the development of «soft» skills in foreign language classes It has been found that «soft» skills are a set of personal and interpersonal skills necessary to solve professional and general tasks for a successful existence in society. Currently, there is no consensus on the classification of «soft» skills. The relevance of the development of «soft» skills is related to the requirements of employers to the specialist in terms of personal and interpersonal personality traits. According to the latest researches of scientists, in 2022 the most popular «soft skills» are skills aimed at: problem solving; self-management; work with people; use and development of technologies. An interactive learning model is an effective technology for developing «soft» skills in a foreign language class. The interactive learning model is an educational environment organized by a teacher for comfortable interaction with students in order to enhance mental activity and achieve the goal of the lesson. This learning model involves the use of interactive tools, methods, technologies, particularly interactive textbooks. It is established that learning with interactive textbooks involves individual, pair and group forms of work in the classroom. Textbook exercises correspond to the classification of interactive technologies: dialogues, discussions, games, training, situation analysis exercises that reproduce real life situations, etc. Such tasks develop critical and analytical thinking, creativity, initiative, communication skills during independent work; teach students to formulate, argue and defend their own position. It is proved that interactive textbooks are effective tools that ensure the formation of the «soft» skills, necessary for a modern specialist, in a foreign language class in distance learning in particular.
