READING AS AN IMPORTANT MEANS OF CHILD SOCIALIZATION: UPDATIMG THE VIEWS OF V.O.SUKHOMLYNSKYI

The article deals with the problem of the child’s socialization in the  society, her ability to self-awareness and self-improvement, to active participation in the country's social life. It is noted that the Law on Education defines the goals of complete general secondary education that means comprehensive development, education and socialization of the personality. However, it is underlined that nowadays the process of personality socialization in educational institutions has acquired the character of secondary importance, conceded to the priority of the learning process. It has been found that V.O.Sukhomlynskyi singled out the school as one of the most important social institutions, that provides training for students to live in society, determines the possibilities of personal, civil and professional choice. At the same time, the teacher considered reading books as an important means of socializing the child. The analysis made it possible to confirm that reading for Vasyl Olexandrovych acted as a means of introducing students to the human knowledge system, the formation of ideas about the main stages of human life. a means of introducing students to the human knowledge system. It is emphasized that Vasyl Olexandrovych Sukhomlynskyi, while reading works,  great attention paid to showing the moral beauty of his native people, his notion of happiness:
but also in the awareness of a properly chosen place in life, in the pursuit of a bright future, in the inextricable connection between the  personal and the public. It is substantiated that in the practical activities of Pavlysh School students, while reading, received knowledge that was useful to them in the context of universal human problems; reorientation of content from objectively indifferent to determining its place and role in the socio-cultural aspect; integration of different knowledge about the problems of forming a woman and a man.
