In the article, based on the analysis of features of the Finnish pedagogical education system, it is determined that teacher training in Finland is characterized by: variability in the content of education, the flexibility of the structure and technologies of teaching, the student's ability to design adequate to his interests and needs of the individual educational route. The competence of a future Finnish elementary school teacher in fulfilling professional responsibilities are based on the competence approach as an effective educational paradigm. The competent approach as an effective educational paradigm is the basis for the preparation of a future Finnish elementary school teacher in fulfilling his / her professional responsibilities.. Among professional competences (subject competence, research competence, curricular competence, competence of lifelong learning, emotional competence, social competence, communicative competence, information and communication competence, intellectual competence, situational competence, temporal competence), a special place is assigned to information and communication competence (ICT Competence), which is a set of knowledge and skills that are formed in the learning process learning and information technology, and the ability to carry out educational activities through information technology.
It has been found out that the educational program concerning the preparation of elementary school teachers includes the development of the module on the choice “Information and Communication Technologies” of 4 credits at the level of bachelor and the study of the discipline “Information Communication Technologies in guidance and counseling” of 5 credits at the master's level.
Various approaches are used in the universities of Finland to build the information and communication competencies of future primary school teachers: the use of digital learning resources, open and distance learning, learning management systems.
In has been proved that studying the experience of preparing primary school teachers in Finland opens new opportunities for improvement of the pedagogical education system in Ukraine in the context of its adaptation to the requirements of the European educational space.
