THE ROLE OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES IN FORMING THE PERSONAL TEACHER'S PERSONALITY OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Abstract

Abstract. The article substantiates the role of volunteer activity in establishing the identity of a future elementary school teacher. The analysis of legal documents on education has made it possible to state that the teacher should be a person with high moral qualities, having an appropriate pedagogical education, proper level of professional training, ensuring the efficiency and quality of his work, having physical and mental health, that allows you to perform professional duties effectively. It has been found that volunteering is a way of supporting, caring, and helping those in need. The characteristics of volunteering that are important for students of the Faculty of Education are identified: caring for people (children and adults), nature; humanity, humanity, tolerance in relations between all participants of the educational process; spirituality and citizenship; source of communication experience; initiative, creativity; ethical standards. The experience of the activity of the student volunteer center «From heart to heart» is characterized, which has shown the considerable potential of volunteer activity as one of the ways of forming the personality of the future teacher of the New Ukrainian School. It has been practically proved that charitable activity has considerable potential for development of basic moral values, social competence of students of the Faculty of Education (acquisition of understanding skills, cooperation; respect, tolerance, empathy, responsibility, ability to work in groups); promotes the development of leadership qualities, creativity, critical thinking;  promotes improvement of pedagogical skills, the development of stress resistance and emotional intelligence of future  teachers of elementary school.This was facilitated by the use of the system of appropriate forms of activity of the volunteer center: trainings, charity events, fairs, discussions, workshops, quests, flash mobs, excursions, trips, games, charity events and more. It is stated that volunteer activity is one of the main areas of activity of higher education institutions and is of great importance for the preparation of the future elementary school teacher, its formation, self-development and self-improvement.
