The article provides the insight into the timeliness of philosophy of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi within the conditions of a New Ukrainian School (NUS) and its significance both for the personal development of younger schoolchildren, and for professional growth of teachers. Due to the title of article, it unfolds the experience and practical implementation of the heritage of a Great Teacher in the teaching and educational processby primary school teachers of Ukrainska Specialized General Education School of 1-3 grades No. 1 with the advanced study in certain subjects, Kyiv region. The article describes in details the following directions, chosen by the teaching staff: national and patriotic education; cultivation of Humanity via the study of a child’s personality; partnership with parents; a book as the most important source of vocabulary extension, development of human dignity and the reflection of the state of mind of a child. A great attention is devoted to explanation of the specified pedagogic ideas of Vasyl Oleksandrovych and their practical implementation at primary school of this educational institution, as well as revealed ways to implement them in the educational process.
