DIAGNOSIS AS A BASIS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL SUPPORT OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

Abstract

The article deals with the importance of diagnosis as a basis for psychological and pedagogical support of children with disabilities; the content of the concept “psychological and pedagogical support” was outlined, the structural components, directions and aspects of the development of support at the present stage of development of psychological and pedagogical science are determined.

Diagnosis is substantiated as a necessary condition for careful planning to identify problem areas of child development; the tasks of primary, current and initial diagnostics of children with disabilities were defined. The content of diagnostic, correctional and prognostic blocks of student diagnostics is determined and the levels of development of socially significant functions are described. Considerable attention was paid to the psychological and pedagogical diagnosis of developmental disorders in children. On the basis of the analysis of the program of mental development of the child the program of differential diagnostics of disturbances of mental development of the child was offered.

It was found that psychological and pedagogical diagnostics makes it possible to identify individual psychological and pedagogical features of the schoolchildren; determine the optimal pedagogical route; provide individual support for each schoolchildren; plan corrective measures, develop programs of corrective work; assess the dynamics of development and effectiveness of correctional work; determine the conditions of upbringing and education of the child; to advise the child's parents.

The relevance of teaching children with disabilities and creating a special correctional and developmental environment for them has been proved; the definition of correctional-psychological-pedagogical care is offered and the primacy of diagnostics as the main component of systemic care for a child with disabilities was determined.
