FORMATION OF A RESPONSIBLE ATTITUDE TO PARENTHOOD IN FUTURE PRIMARY SCOOL THEACHERS: THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS

The article presents theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of a responsible attitude to parenthood in future primary school teachers. Older adolescence has been found to have significant potential for responsible parenthood. It is generalized that a responsible parenthood is a set of parental qualities, parental feelings, knowledge and skills formed in young people, based on the readiness of future parents to be responsible to themselves and society for performing parental functions and raising their own children. The process of forming a responsible attitude to parenthood in future primary school teachers is characterized as a purposeful influence on the consciousness of the individual in order to transform the personal values of parenthood into a supra-individual whole, educating them in a set of stable qualities and qualities needed by expectant mothers and fathers.

Emphasis is placed on the significant potential in the formation of a responsible attitude to parenthood in such disciplines as «Pedagogy», «Pedagogical Skills», «Theory and Methods of Education», «Family Education of Junior Students». The importance of extracurricular educational work is practically proved, which should include the use of active forms and methods of forming a responsible attitude to parenthood in future primary school teachers. The use of various active forms and methods in extracurricular educational work should be based on the principle of combining pedagogical management with the development of activity, independence and initiative, which will contribute to the formation of future primary school teachers responsible for parenting: cognitive, emotional and behavioral. It is stated that the formation of a responsible attitude to parenthood in future primary school teachers will be effective if the age and individual characteristics of student youth, filling the content of disciplines with relevant topics on responsible parenthood, the use of active forms and methods of educational process and educational work of the curator.
