PROFESSIONAL VALUES OF A UNIVERSITY TEACHER AS A FACTOR OF HIS PERSONAL GROWTH

The article is devoted to the analysis of theoretical positions of the problem of values of the teacher at higher school in the aspect of his personal growth. The article notes that the phenomenon of professional values is a multi-structural new formation, which is formed in the process of professional training of future teachers in the institution of higher education. It is shown that professional values can be considered both as criterion aspects of professional development of the future teacher, and an important component of his professional growth during life.

    The author proved that to use the concept of "personal values" researchers use the concepts of "awareness", "reflexivity"; personal values are considered as a complex hierarchical model, which is localized at the intersection of the motivational-needs sphere of the individual; the role of value orientations is determined by the leading life goals of man. It is noted that "value" is most often interpreted by scholars as "direction", "meaning", "meaning", "motive", "need", "setting", or identified with concepts such as "value orientations", "value system". Value, as a philosophical, psychological, or pedagogical category, can also be the value of something or someone.

    The article focuses on Schwartz's theory of values, offers five main characteristics of values; it is shown that values have an important evolutionary significance in the process of individual development, because they are formed based on basic human needs. It is noted: all values are formed because of satisfaction or non-satisfaction of certain needs; the author of the theory proposes the structure of values according to the basic human needs (in the article the relationship between needs and value type of personality based on the views of Schwartz is presented in the form of a table).
