The article deals with the problem of childhood, which is relevant for modern society. Childhood, the world of childhood, the ideas of humanistic education are the center of scientific research of T. Ponimanska, the well-known scientist in the field of preschool education in Ukraine and abroad. The results of the scientific research, considerable theoretical work and peculiar  practical experience enabled T. Ponimanska to create the conception of the humanistic upbringing, based on the perception of the value of preschool childhood, its importance in the life of each person. The world visions of childhood, the views concerning the need to change the relationship between the world of childhood and the world of adults in modern conditions have been analyzed. The conceptual foundations of the humanistic upbringing, based on the idea of equality of worlds of adults and children, their interaction on the basis of humanistic values have been defined. Having analyzed the views of T. Ponimanska on the world of childhood, we can conclude that the entire interaction of the world of childhood and the adult world is not a displacement of each other, but is possible only through their constant coordination, cooperation, correlation. It is a mutual integration of the world of adults and the world of childhood, where they are involved in a collaborative dialogue with each other
