Abstract. The article defines the priorities of the study of the formation of axiological and deontological competences and related axiological culture and deontological type of thinking. Special research attention to the axiological discourse of professional training in modern higher education is substantiated. The main concepts revealing the essence of the research include: "axiology", "values", "value-meaning sphere", "axiological approach in education". The study of the need and perspective of axiological research is analyzed, which is also confirmed by the reflexive function of values. It is pointed out that value changes reflect socio-economic changes, a situation when people adapt to a new environment, and at the same time, values ​​themselves act as factors of social change. The article updates the phenomenon of the theory of values ​​(axiology), the content of the axiological approach and the potential of its implementation in the educational process as a component of the professional training of future specialists in the IT industry. It was determined that the theory of education examines values ​​in connection with the concepts of education, the educational process, the formation and development of personality. It was found that the educational process using an axiological approach ensures the transfer of socially approved values ​​into the value-meaning sphere of the individual, which is the basis of the development of life strategies. The conclusions indicate the expediency of operating with axiological issues in the context of the organization of higher education, in particular the professional training of future specialists in the IT industry, and indicate the task of further investigations - to identify the prerequisites for the formation of value-deontological beliefs of such specialists.
