Abstract

In the article the pedagogical views of Vasily Alexandrovich Sukhomlinsky (1918-1970) on the problem of emotional development of the personality. It is noted that the emotional development of the personality manifests itself in the growth of the body's ability to self-regulate emotional states, in the accumulation of verbal and non-verbal expressions of emotions, in the enrichment of the child's emotional experience, in the emergence of new emotions (first of all, social and intellectual), in the ability to distinguish and more subtly differentiate emotional states and partner in communication.

It was found that in pedagogical heritage the scientist has repeatedly referred to the  problem of emotional development of the personality The analysis made it possible to confirm that V. Sukhomlynsky, the teacher, called the emotional development of a child an important task of every teacher, as it is the key to full-fledged personality development. It was established that the teacher noted the emotional openness, sincerity and emotional receptivity of children of primary school age.

Attention is focused on the fact that Vasyl Oleksandrovich Sukhomlynskyi advised to create the necessary emotional background and emotional richness of collective life for the emotional development of children of primary school age. He called the level of emotional culture (emotional sensitivity (emotional receptivity), experiencing a wide range of emotions, internal emotional self-discipline and emotional orientation of the individual) an indicator of their emotional development.

Attention is focused on the fact that Vasyl Oleksandrovich Sukhomlynskyi advised to create the necessary emotional background, emotional wealth of collective life and spiritual communication between the teacher and pupils for the emotional development of children of primary school age. It is proved that the teacher considered a high emotional culture of the teacher to be the key to successful emotional development of the personality.
