FORMATION OF HEALTH CARE COMPETENCE OF YOUTH STUDENTS IN THE PROCESS OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY

The article analyzes the state of formation of health-saving competence of student youth and identifies the specifics of volunteering in the specified direction.

The formation of health-preserving competence of student youth is considered as a purposeful process of development of the integral quality of the personality, which is manifested in the general ability and readiness for health-preserving activities of student youth as a separate socio-demographic group of society, distinguished by a set of age and psychophysiological characteristics, from the level of health on which depends not only the quality of their own life, but also the quality of their future professional activity.

In order to find out the state of formation of health-saving competence among student youth in the process of volunteer work, the author analyzed examples of classroom and extracurricular work in the specified direction in some higher education institutions of Ukraine.

The analysis of the state of formation of the health-saving competence of student youth in the process of volunteering proved the interest of the participants in the educational process of higher education institutions in the given question. In the vast majority of higher education institutions, the issue of personal health care, the formation of health care competence is one of the key issues in the process of implementing the classroom and extracurricular components of specialist training.

However, in contrast to classroom work (general and special professional disciplines), higher education institutions do not sufficiently use the opportunities of extracurricular component training of specialists (student volunteer services, clubs, youth work sectors) in the following aspects: knowledge on health care issues and creation of a health-care environment in professional activity); motivation of student youth to volunteer work in general and health-saving volunteering in particular; training of volunteer students.
