MILITARY AND PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF SCHOOLCHILDREN IN EXTRACURRICULAR EDUCATIONAL WORK OF SECONDARY SCHOOL

The article is devoted to the problem of organizing military and patriotic education of schoolchildren in extracurricular educational work of a general secondary school.

Based on the analysis of normative legal documents, the goal and task of forming a citizen-patriot in wartime conditions has been updated. Factors influencing the formation of a citizen-patriot were distinguished: individual-psychological, psychological-pedagogical, social-pedagogical.

It was found that military-patriotic education, as one of the directions of national-patriotic education, is based on the spiritual and moral values of the Ukrainian people, involves applied physical training, as well as training in the subject “Defense of Ukraine”, “Life Safety”, as well as the organization of extracurricular educational work, which in general ensures the formation of citizenship and patriotism in schoolchildren, the development of a positive attitude to military service in various types of troops.

The forms of military-patriotic education of student youth in the extracurricular educational work of general secondary school were characterized, among which practice-oriented ones occupy a prominent place. The educational potential of children's and youth military-sports and military-patriotic games, among which “Defense of Ukraine”, “Patriot”, “Sokil” (“Jura”) has been revealed. The pedagogical value of such games has been distinguished: 1) the elements of heroics and combat romance in the games; 2) a universal requirement that must be fulfilled by every participant of the game; 3) various tasks-exercises used in the game form character, endurance, fighting spirit, a sense of collectivism and responsibility.
