POLYCULTURAL COMPETENCE FOR PARENTS-EDUCATORS IN A FAMILY-TYPE CHILDREN'S HOME

The article focuses on the multicultural education of parents-educators. In was stated that a family-type orphanage becomes a new socio-cultural environment, with a high probability of different ethnic composition, culture, religion, in which a new order, way of life, traditions, customs, rules of behavior of pupils will be formed. The main direction of such a family form is to ensure the interests of children and their socialization in a multicultural society. Therefore, the formation of multicultural competence of parents-educators is one of the important tasks of their training and education. Taking into account different interpretations of the definition of multicultural competence, the purpose of the article is to analyze multicultural competence as a pedagogical phenomenon and to highlight the features and components necessary for parent-educators.

Multicultural competence is studying by scientists like: a personal formation of an individual, which includes knowledge about the multicultural space, skills and abilities of intercultural interaction; the ability to live in a multicultural society based on acquired knowledge and skills; a transformative educational process, which consists not only in mastering personal multicultural abilities, but also in the ability to nurture them in others. In the process of scientific research, the following conclusion was made: multicultural competence of parents of educators is a combination of personal qualities based on understanding the cultural differences of different peoples and a tolerant attitude towards them, the ability to organize the coexistence of representatives of different cultures and the ability to apply this knowledge in the education of orphans and children without parents care.
