Abstract

The article deals with the problem of the development of professional competence of a future specialist when studying a foreign language in a professional direction. English is the language of business and international communication and in order to master it, you need to make a lot of efforts: you need to learn it by performing a significant number of exercises, practice reading, improve pronunciation, listen to the language, learn to write business letters, fill out documents, questionnaires, etc. A special interest in modern technologies for learning a foreign language allows you to significantly fill the gaps thanks to a variety of methods of distance learning, foreign language courses, electronic resources, provide an opportunity for the student to choose the pace of study, time of study, the amount of material that needs to be learned. Separately, the tasks of the teacher are analyzed, related to stimulate and motivate students in mastering a foreign language, arouse interest in improving skills, take into account the professional interests of their students and rely on their professional knowledge of disciplines in the process of teaching English in a professional direction.

Special attention is paid to student-centered training, which requires constant development. In this aspect, the joint activities of the teacher and the student are analyzed in detail, which involves the creation of any final work that can be presented in the form of presentations, publications of abstracts, etc. It is stated that student-centered learning allows you to take a significant step towards the modernization of teaching a foreign language and master discipline more effectively, increase motivation for learning, intensify the cognitive activity of students, encourage self-development and self-improvement, learn educational material in an interesting and understandable form.
