Abstract: The article singles out one of the priority areas of training future teachers, namely: the development of creative activity. An analysis of scientific research in the specified direction of pedagogical activity was carried out. The concept of "creativity", "creative activity", "pedagogical creativity" is analyzed. It was found that pedagogical creativity is a complex and at the same time complex phenomenon, an important form of practical embodiment of the professionalism of a teacher with existing creative potential, which is expressed in various types of human activity: cognitive, worldview, work, communicative and emotional. The main personal traits of a creative teacher are explained. Attention is focused on the importance of special professional training of future teachers. The importance of their constant self-improvement and systematic self-education, acquisition of knowledge, abilities and skills of pedagogical work is emphasized. Peculiarities and characteristic features of creative pedagogical activity are singled out, as well as indicators and criteria for the implementation of creative activity. It is clarified that creative pedagogical activity is a research activity and is based on the achievements of pedagogical science. It has been established that the creative activity of future teachers is the result of the planned and systematic work of mentors, teachers who, by their own example, encourage young people to be creative and creative. It is specified that the professional pedagogical creative activity of a teacher is characterized by deep knowledge and skills, the formation of relevant personal characteristics and the desire for systematic self-improvement. A number of methodological bases for the formation of the creative activity of future teachers are highlighted. The conclusions were drawn that for the formation of a qualitatively new educational level of teacher training and the competitive and creative personality of a student of higher education, it is the institutions of higher education and the highly qualified teaching staff that play an important role.
