The article deals with international academic mobility as a factor of Ukraine's integration into the world scientific and educational space. The problems of regulatory, legal, organisational and financial support for the development of international cooperation in the field of professional higher education in Ukraine are analysed; ways to solve them are proposed. The international educational programmes, participation in which contributes to the development of international academic mobility in Ukraine, are described. In modern society, education and knowledge are becoming a cross-border and transnational phenomenon. The formation of a single global educational space is taking place through the convergence of approaches to education in different countries, as well as through the recognition of educational documents from other countries. The European Common Education Area, on the one hand, promotes the mobility of students and teaching staff, and on the other hand, academic mobility is a prerequisite for the formation of the common education area itself. In the course of writing the article, the methods of analysis and synthesis, systematic approach, statistical analysis, generalisation and structuring were used. It is proved that the development of academic mobility will accelerate the country's integration into the European Education Area, improve educational technologies, bring Ukrainian education to the world level, promote innovative development of university science and its integration with production, generate significant funds to the state budget that can be invested in the development of the domestic education system, improve the quality of the country's labour resources and employment opportunities for Ukrainians, etc. For Ukraine, achieving effective international academic mobility in the context of the Bologna Process is realistic only if a productive system of national academic mobility, its regulatory framework, organisational and economic mechanism, identification of funding sources and readiness for partnership of the subjects of the academic exchange process are created.
