ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE “INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO TEACHING MATHEMATICS” IN THE STRUCTURE OF MASTERS’ TRAINING IN SPECIALTY 014 SECONDARY EDUCATION (MATHEMATICS)

The article analyzes the content of the discipline “Innovative Approaches to Teaching Mathematics” in the structure of masters’ training in specialty 014 Secondary Education (Mathematics).

It is found that an innovative approach is a new approach to solving problems in a particular activity, ensuring high results through the use of new technologies in the educational process. The innovative approach is a conceptual approach in the educational process, the process and result of such educational activities that contribute to the introduction of innovative changes. The innovative approach involves the widespread use of innovative learning technologies, which today are considered to be new, original technologies (methods, tools, ways) for creating, transmitting and storing educational materials, other information resources for educational purposes, as well as technologies for organizing and supporting the educational process (traditional, electronic, distance, mobile) through telecommunications and computer networks, which are purposefully, systematically and consistently implemented in educational practice.

The experience of introducing the discipline “Innovative Approaches to Teaching Mathematics” in the training of masters in specialty 014 Secondary Education (Mathematics) at Rivne State University of the Humanities is characterized. The content, purpose, objectives of the course, the expected results of studying the discipline are determined.

It is emphasized that a lesson of mathematics using innovative approaches is a qualitatively new type of lesson in which the teacher coordinates the methodology of learning new material with the methodology of using the latest technologies, while maintaining continuity with traditional pedagogical technologies.

The article substantiates the expediency of using such innovative technologies in teaching mathematics as: personality-oriented pedagogical technologies, interactive learning technologies, project technologies, information technologies, technologies of level differentiation and individualization, game technologies, test technologies, health-saving technologies.
