NATIONAL AND PATRIOTIC EDUCATION IN THE FACE OF CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES

The article is devoted to the problem of national and patriotic education of a growing personality in the conditions of the current challenges that actualize Ukraine-centered orientations, directing to the search for new ways of developing national consciousness, active citizenship, ethnic patriotism as a personal quality. The authors analyzed the problem of national-patriotic education of a growing personality in the history of national pedagogical thought; the educational experience of scout organizations has been updated as such that maximally contribute to the formation of a nationally conscious student, a patriot of his country, with a sense of duty and responsibility for the future of the Motherland, ready to work for its benefit and, if necessary, to defend its security and national interests.

The peculiarities of national-patriotic education in the conditions of modern challenges are revealed: the need for a clear definition theoretical and methodological approaches to the content of national-patriotic education; eradication of vestiges of radianshchyna, the phenomena of pseudo-patriotism; intensification of work in the military-patriotic area; participation in volunteering; a well-thought-out system of educational influences on the personality; fostering linguistic and mental stability, updating the program of national-patriotic education on Ukraine-centric principles.
