In the article the attention is focused on the analysis of the humanistic content of Ukrainian child’s folklore. The methodology of work on the study of fairy tales in preschool educational institution is revealed. The relevance of the problem is highlighted. The author notes that nowadays in Ukraine there is an urgent need to build an effective, scientifically grounded educational system that would protect the young generation from moral crisis, lack of spirituality, disappointment in the future. The initial link in the construction of such system is preschool education and upbringing. It is noted that current educational and upbringing programs of preschool institutions are filled up with child’s folklore texts, which are a true source of folk wisdom, an expression of the people’s worldview. It is argued that among the whole diversity of genres of child’s folklore, folk tales are the most effective and influential means of moral influence on children. The role of a fairy tale in shaping the moral world of a child is inestimable. The actions of fairy-tale heroes are understandable to children, so they become their role models. Fairy tales help children understand what is good and what is bad; distinguish between good and evil; believe in justice.
