FORMATION OF TRANSLATION COMPETENCE FOR MASTER’S STUDENTS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

The article deals with the problem of formation of translation competence among master students. The problem of definition of translation in the context of Ukrainian and foreign studies, types of translation and their functional load is considered. The purpose of studying in a technical university, components of translation competence, criteria of translation quality, which determine the student’s language and speech competencies were determined. The study of the problem of forming translation competence leads to an appeal to the practical experience of organizing this process. The article considers the peculiarities of master’s training in translation of scientific and technical literature: tasks of the course; content of the discipline, enriching students’ ideas about the state of the language of science; forms of certification based on the results of the study of the discipline. The article outlines the role of independent work of masters, which determines the success of mastering translation skills and expanding the horizons; forms the skills and skills of self-education, which determine the solution of tasks set by the teacher at a qualitatively different level.Attention is focused on the specifics of the use of translation transformations as aspects of translation at the verbal, morphological and syntactic language levels.Translation of scientific, technical, business literature is an important component of professional-oriented training and plays a key role in forming the translation competence of modern master students. The presence of translation aspects in the program of studying foreign languages in the master’s degree is a prerequisite for ensuring the competitiveness of graduates at the present stage. Providing enough credit hours to study specialization disciplines is a crucial factor in the quality education of future technical translators.
