PEDAGOGICAL POTENTIAL OF THE DISCIPLINE «THEORY AND METHODS OF EDUCATION» FOR THE FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF PERSPECTIVE BACHELORS OF PRIMARY EDUCATION

The article deals with the pedagogical potential of the discipline «Theory and Methods of Education» in the formation of professional competence for perspective bachelors of primary education. The purpose and objectives of the discipline are outlined. Attention is focused on the principles of teaching: humanism, pedagogical support, individualization of learning, independence, information saturation of educational material.

The subject content of two modules of the discipline is revealed, the forms and methods of its implementation are distinguished, namely: problem and visual lectures, practical and laboratory classes, which actively use dialogic teaching technologies.

It is noted that the use of discussion methods of teaching, analysis and solution of pedagogical problems contributes to the acquisition by future bachelors of primary education of new pedagogical knowledge and skills, their assimilation and consolidation, the acquisition of minimal experience in finding pedagogically appropriate solutions, which will further facilitate operational orientation in similar real-life situations.

It is summarized that while studying the discipline, future bachelors are laid theoretical and practical foundations of the chosen profession, the development of creative abilities, pedagogical thinking, and the ability to educate and develop a primary education student, taking into account their age, gender, and individual characteristics, a positive attitude to the profession of primary school teacher, an active life position is formed, which is the basis for the formation of general and special (professional) competencies defined in the Standard of Higher Education in the specialty 013 Primary Education, the Еducational and Рrofessional Рrogram of the specialty 013 Primary Education for the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education of RSUН (2023).
