HUMANISTIC TRADITIONS AND INNOVATIVE IDEAS OF V. SUKHOMLYNSKYI’S AUTHOR SCHOOL IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN CHALLENGES TO THE UKRAINIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

The article provides the humanistic traditions and innovative ideas of the famous domestic author’s school of Vasyl Oleksandrovych Sukhomlynskyi in the context of modern challenges. The outstanding pedagogue-innovator not only substantiated the theoretical foundations of his system, but also built the concept and embodied it in practical activities, clarified the subjects (teacher, student, family), the goal (formation of a comprehensively developed personality), components (directions of education), which were based on humanistic foundations (principles of cultivating the child’s needs; forming a culture of desires and feelings; creating an atmosphere of «joy of being» for the child; forming a sense of self-worth; creating a situation of success; the preference of positive ideals, incentives and reactions to the child's behavior over negative ones; cooperation school, family, public, etc.).

The leading principles and ideas of the author’s school of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi have been updated, namely: humanism, treating people as a special individual, conformity to nature, cultural conformity, reliance on the positive in the child, formation of a situation of success, spiritualization of knowledge, formation of the joy of learning new things, development of the «intellectual background of the school» etc.

It is emphasized that V. O. Sukhomlynskyi is one of the most creative representatives of innovative pedagogy and talented masters of modeling its technological means.

Having carried out a retrospective analysis of the works of V. O. Sukhomlynskyi, it has been proven that the theoretical generalizations of the outstanding humanist teacher contain provisions that are closely intertwined with the principles of the New Ukrainian School: the presumption of the child's talent, the value of childhood, the joy of knowledge, the development of personality, health, and safety.

Author’s school V. O. Sukhomlynskyi is a phenomenon of an educational institution of the middle of the 20^th century. innovative direction, the basis of which is the organizational-management and scientific-methodical findings of the famous Ukrainian pedagogue-humanist. It fully relies on the individual as the bearer of the highest ideals of humanity, goodness and justice. This educational institution has created all the necessary conditions for the organization and implementation of a comfortable and effective educational process for students, teachers, and parents.
