Abstract

The article emphasizes the need to study the influence of values for the formation of linguistic and cultural competences among students who specialize in foreign languages. First of all, it is argued that understanding this influence is critically important in today’s globalized world. Students studying foreign languages develop their skills and readiness for international communication and work in an intercultural environment. So understanding their values is important for improving their linguistic and cultural skills. Studies have shown that students’ values can influence their motivation, choice of learning strategies, and perception of cultural characteristics. In particular, taking values into account can help improve the quality of education and increase the effectiveness of foreign language learning. It is noted that the creation of a favorable educational environment that takes into account the values of students can contribute to their successful studies and preparation for international cooperation.

This study analyzed the results of previous studies in this area, emphasizing which values students prefer and how these values influence their motivation and attitudes toward learning a foreign language. The study shows that understanding of other cultures, intercultural communication and willingness to cooperate in an international environment have a significant impact on the formation of these competencies.

In the context of this problem, a hypothesis was put forward that the training of future foreign language specialists should be based on a value-oriented approach, which will contribute to increasing student motivation and learning efficiency. The study offers recommendations for teachers and methodologists to take students’ values into account when planning and conducting foreign language classes, creating a learning environment that corresponds to their values and interests.

This article notes that understanding the impact of values on language learning is key to developing effective teaching methods and increasing student motivation. Further research in this area can contribute to the development of new approaches to teaching a foreign language and improve the quality of education in general.
