Abstract

This article examines the issue of developing communicative competence as a factor in preventing conflict situations in the educational environment. The relevance of the study stems from contemporary transformations in education linked to digitalization, globalization processes, and the intensification of communicative interaction among participants in the educational process, which, in turn, increases the risk of conflicts.

Scientific approaches to interpreting the concept of “communicative competence” as an integrative personality trait encompassing linguistic, social, and emotional components are analyzed. It is argued that the development of this competence ensures effective communication, the development of communicative culture, and the ability to engage in constructive dialogue.

An analysis was conducted of the causes of conflict situations in the educational environment, which are complex in nature and include personal (emotional instability, low empathy), communicative (communication barriers, misunderstandings), and organizational-social factors. It has been determined that an insufficient level of communicative competence is one of the key prerequisites for the emergence of conflicts.

The role of communicative competence in conflict prevention through the implementation of effective communication strategies and the development of key skills–including active listening, empathy, constructive dialogue, and the ability to express opinions in a reasoned manner–has been substantiated. The importance of targeted efforts to develop students’ communicative competence as a vital component of their professional training and the creation of a supportive psychological climate in the educational environment is emphasized.
