This study explores the theoretical and practical foundations of fostering volitional qualities in older preschool children through active games. Willpower is identified as a crucial component of moral development, enabling children to consciously regulate behavior, overcome difficulties, and align actions with social norms. The article highlights the pedagogical potential of active games in cultivating independence, initiative, discipline, organization, persistence, and self-control. Psychological and pedagogical conditions for effective play organization are examined, emphasizing the role of collective activities in strengthening self-regulation, endurance, and responsibility. Contemporary approaches to volitional development are reviewed, including concepts of cognitive control, executive functions, and social adaptation. Findings demonstrate that systematic use of active games not only supports physical development but also enriches children’s emotional and social growth, fostering honesty, resilience, and cooperation. The study concludes that active games serve as a powerful educational tool for shaping moral and volitional qualities, which are essential for the holistic development and successful socialization of preschool children.
