The article addresses the problem of socialization of students with disabilities in higher education institutions and substantiates the role of creativity and art as effective means of this process. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to implement the principles of inclusive education, ensure equal access to educational and sociocultural resources, and create conditions for the full participation of students with disabilities in academic and social life.
The paper analyzes scientific approaches to understanding personal socialization, social adaptation of persons with disabilities, and the use of art in socio-pedagogical and rehabilitation activities. It is proved that artistic and creative activity has significant socializing potential, as it contributes to the development of communication skills, formation of positive self-esteem, emotional stability, social activity, and a sense of belonging to the community.
The article summarizes the practical experience of the Center for Student Support and Inclusive Tourism “Without Barriers” at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, particularly the implementation of the Creativity Festival “We Are Equal. Let Us Be Together You and I” as an innovative form of socio-educational work. It is shown that involving students with disabilities in artistic initiatives helps overcome social stereotypes, promotes tolerance, and fosters the development of an inclusive culture within the higher education institution.
The study concludes that the systematic integration of creative and artistic practices into the socio-pedagogical support of students with disabilities is an important condition for their successful socialization and self-realization in an inclusive educational environment.
