The article deals with the scientific approaches and directions of the readiness of the future primary school teacher to carry out professional activities. In the article it is shown that readiness is a complex integrative characteristic of the subject of labor and contains motivation, knowledge, skill, experience that ensure achievement of high performance in the performance of professional activities. It is established that its structure includes: psychological readiness, which provides for a conscious attitude to the activity according to individual indicators and capabilities; practical readiness, which determines the potential possibility of mastering the system of professional knowledge, skills and habits; moral readiness, which is based on the recognition of the importance of the profession, as well as on a positive attitude to future activities and the desire to maximize the use of their own forces and capabilities in future professional activities. All this causes considerable interest in subsequent scientific research
