The article deals with the pedagogical ideas of the outstanding Ukrainian teacher V. Sukhomlynskyi in the context of the development of the new Ukrainian school, the preparation of a modern teacher, a new content of education, focused on the formation of key life competencies, pedagogy of a partnership, based on mutual respect among all participants in the educational process, an individual approach to satisfaction the needs of each student, the creation of a modern educational environment that will stimulate the liberation of the creative potential of both students and teachers. All V. Sukhomlynskyi’s scientific works are imbued with love for children; his ideological postulates are aimed at the formation and development of creative abilities of students. Responsible pedagogical approach used by V. Sukhomlinsky during the whole period of studying at school is worthy of attention. The Concept of the “New Ukrainian School” offers a modern educational environment that will provide the necessary conditions, means and technologies for teaching students and educators, a great teacher and scientist V. Sukhomlynskyi dreamed about.
