The author reveals the views. V. O. Sukhomlynskyi on the creative personality of the teacher. In the context of the requirements of the Concept of the New Ukrainian school we analyzed the main ideas of V. O. Sukhomlynskyi on the formation of the creative teacher. The psychological and pedagogical conditions of formation of the creative personality of the future teacher, such as: the formation of students' constant need for self-improvement, creative self-development, the need to study and creative use of advanced pedagogical experience; the presence of motivation; pedagogical stimulation; didactic conditions are analyzed; taking into account the age characteristics of students; interaction of the future teacher with other people, built on the principle of dialogue; versatile orientation of the future teacher in all areas of practical teaching. The expediency of each of the given conditions is confirmed by pedagogical ideas and practical activities of Vasyl Oleksandrovych Sukhomlynskyi.
