THE PROCESS OF ORGANIZING FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES IN HIGHER EDUCATION USING LEARNING STATIONS TECHNIQUE

The article highlights the peculiarities of the implementation of the learning stations technique in the process of teaching foreign languages in institutions of higher education in order to increase the effectiveness of the learning process and motivate students to learn foreign languages. This method refers to students' work on prepared by the teacher educational material, which is arranged in the form of stations. According to learning stations technique, several groups of students move through the classroom from station to station, independently master the educational material, help each other to improve communication skills without the direct intervention of the teacher. The essence of learning stations technique is the constant and active interaction of all its participants in the process. With the help of this method, students learn to work in a team, defend one’s point of view, make a compromise, manage their time and the educational process, analyze their educational progress, and gain self-control skills. The proposed method is based on the principles of project methodology. It offers variable possibilities for solving any task or getting out of a problem situation. The article outlines the didactic aspects of using the learning stations technique and describes the process of organizing and conducting foreign language classes using this method. In particular, the stages of conducting classes are considered. The priorities of using the method in the educational process are also summarized. The presented study substantiates the methodological expediency of implementing learning stations technique as innovative and effective method that creates a natural language environment, an atmosphere of success, constant interest and an impetus to learn foreign languages.
