The article deals with the problem of implementation integrated courses in Ukrainian system of higher education. The author emphasizes, that these kind of courses provoke the new challenging for today's educational system, which has developed and acquired fundamental forms in  Soviet and post-Soviet society. Basing on the example of the integrated course "Fundamentals of Natural and Mathematical Sciences with the methodology", which has been introduced in the practice of "Preschool education" specialty students preparing, it is proved, that these types of courses promote the educational process improvement and help to overcome the teaching disadvantages of some professional disciplines.
The approaches to the integrated courses construction such as the definition of the aim, tasks, structure are described in the article. The system of general and professional students’ competencies that can be formed in the results of studding is presented in the issue.
The author points out, that the integration of the content of education is more explored in elementary and secondary schools. As for higher education, only some aspects of the integrative approach to student learning are investigated. Integrated courses haven’t got massive sharing in the system of specialized disciplines, thus the feasibility of introducing them into higher education requires substantiation and experimental testing.
