The article states that the future specialist in information and communication technologies (ICT) in higher education should have not only basic professional knowledge and skills, but also the value orientations of the specialist, the motives of his work, style of relationships with people and colleagues, communication and information culture. , the ability to develop their creative potential in the professional sphere.

It is noted that the organization of professional training of future ICT specialists in free economic education should include the use of information and communication technologies such as: acquaintance with modern methods and technologies of information processing, taking into account the specifics of organizing information processes in the professional environment of future specialists; tool for solving professional problems.

It is noted that in modern conditions the phenomenon of professional competence of the future specialist in ICT has acquired unprecedented relevance for pedagogical theory and practice. Irreversible changes in life caused by a society with market relations have made adjustments to the essential characteristics of the time-updated concept of "professional competence of future ICT specialists: while preserving socio-cultural and moral potential, professional competence is integrated into the system of economic relations." Therefore, in this sense, competencies coincide with the purpose of education, but this goal is formal, operationally verified. On the one hand, competence is a smaller division of the generalized goals of education and a higher level of concretization, on the other hand, competence is an activity component of the received education which helps to show knowledge, abilities and skills in an unfamiliar situation, ie is a higher level of generalization. the latter.
