The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the problem of ergonomic approach to the formation of elementary school classroom space, It was found that the ergonomic approach involves increasing attention to the problems of the technical, technological equipment of the educational process, its adequacy to the individual characteristics of teachers and students (anthropometric, physiological, psychological, etc.), requirements due to the content of education, the interaction of teachers and students with means of work in the pedagogical process, taking into account the decisive social factors.
It is determined that the main task of an ergonomic the approach is to ensure the convenience of the educational process, that is, to create a space for effective educational activities of the student and the professional activity of the teacher, while maintaining health and personal development.
The ergonomic approach, which is the realization of the requirements of pedagogical ergonomics to the educational process, is considered as the scientific and technological basis of pedagogical and ergonomic conditions for the construction of classroom space. In this case, the ergonomic approach is to focus on the “human factor”, the full adaptation of the information-subject environment, the means of training to the activities of the subjects of the pedagogical process, and ensuring the functioning of the system “teacher - student - means of learning - educational subject environment” is the essence of the ergonomics approach.
It was found that the concept of the New Ukrainian School envisages the organization of classroom space in the form of eight educational units (educational and cognitive activity, variable thematic cells, games, artistic and creative activity, wildlife corner, recreation corner, children's classroom library, teacher's center), reflecting the educational needs and interests of children. Thus, an ergonomic approach provides complete security and is fully adapted to the educational environment of the school, classroom, teaching aids to the joint activities of the subjects of the pedagogical process.
