РОЛЬ ШКІЛЬНОЇ БІБЛІОТЕКИ У ФОРМУВАННІ ІНТЕРЕСУ ДО ЧИТАННЯ У ТВОРЧІЙ СПАДЩИНІ В. О. СУХОМЛИНСЬКОГО

The article deals with the analysis of V. Sukhomlynskyi’s pedagogical views on the role of the school library in the formation of interest in reading. It has been proved that a book for Vasyl Sukhomlinskyi has always been an indisputable authority, and the library has been one of the main places in his pedagogical activity. The attention is focused on the book as a means of education, which is associated with a wide range of issues of education and upbringing, self-education and self-knowledge of the growing personality. It was noted that Vasyl Olexandrovych did not have a special library education, but in his pedagogical activity he focused attention and applied such forms and methods of library work, which contributed to the education in pupils and  teachers the love for books. It is stressed that the educational work in the school concerning the formation of love for the book can not be conducted separately by a teacher and a librarian, but requires united efforts. It was found out that the following kinds of library work were used at Pavlysh school like the free exchange of books on shelves in corridors and classes; these forms of work are similar to modern technology of book-crossing. It is emphasized that the school library for V.O. Sukhomlynsky was the center of spiritual life and a source of spiritual wealth for a child.
