PEDAGOGICAL MANAGEMENT AS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN UKRAINE

The paper examines the issues of pedagogical management in the education system of Ukraine. The importance of management issues and improving the quality of a manager’s professional competencies is emphasized.

Special attention is paid to the requirements for education, management and the priority role of management in educational institutions, the implementation of the main tasks of pedagogical management on the basis of innovative strategies and new technologies presented in the National Strategy for Educational Development of Ukraine.

The analyzed scientific papers on the issue of management in the field of education focus on the fact that education has an essential place in the field of professional management. So the traditional category “management” should be replaced by the category “pedagogical management”, which will allow to make more detailed requirements to the professional competencies of the heads of educational institutions.

The paper considers the concepts, criteria and types of educational management, covered in scientific and pedagogical research of various scientists. The main objectives facing educational institutions are implemented in the process of performing by managers of their professional and educational functions.

In the process of researching the issue of pedagogical management as an essential component of the education system of Ukraine, the category “an educational institution manager” is defined as “a specialist who has a high professional level, is competent in various matters of organization, management and control in the educational process”.
