The artistic features of children's literature are analyzed as a component of literary education and as a factor in the effectiveness of the process of raising the spiritual orientations of students of older adolescence. The specifics of the educational influence of modern artistic Ukrainian adolescent literature on the formation of the spirituality of high school students in educational activities are characterize.Emphasis is placed on the features of literary works for children and about children in the formation of the spirituality of students of upper adolescence in general secondary education institutions. It has been proven that children's literature can have an educational impact only if it is understood by the reader, when the spiritual guidelines of the writer will help the student of education to realize himself as a spiritual person.

Therefore, a modern Ukrainian teacher should direct the lesson not only to the study of the work itself by the students of the upper teenage years, but also to the assimilation of autobiographical facts from the lives of writers, as significant figures capable of instilling national dignity in the student of education, the desire to imitate their deeds, to be spiritual followers.
