One of the complex and key problems of pedagogical theory and practice is the problem of personality and its development in specially organized conditions. It has different aspects, therefore it is considered by different sciences: age-related physiology and anatomy, sociology, child and pedagogical psychology and other sciences. Pedagogy studies and reveals the most effective conditions for the personality harmonious development in the process of education and upbringing.

Modern pedagogical science considers the individual as single entity in which the biological is inseparable from the social. Changes in the personality biology affect not only the specifics of its activity, but also the way of life.

The personality formation is not determined by purely biological or social factors, but is the result of the energetic activity of the person him / herself. In such activity, both types of factors are objectified. The real basis of human personality is «the totality of its social attitudes towards the world» (personal meanings, which are realized by «the totality of its multifaceted activities»). However, the decisive role is played by those motives, interests, goals that, determining the entire personality state, give it strength to overcome its physical shortcomings and character traits (temperament, shyness, orientation, etc.).

Personality, being a social life product, is at the same time a living organism. The relationship between the social and the biological in the personality formation and behavior is extremely complex and has an unequal impact on it at different stages of human development, in different situations and types of communication with other people. Thus, courage can reach the point of recklessness when motivated by the desire to draw attention to oneself (natural need for recognition). Another person's courage prompts him / her to face life's difficulties, although no one but him / her knows about it. It is important to see the degree of corresponding quality expression (or even to notice it).

In order to have an active influence on pupils, it is necessary to meaningfully perceive the real situation of their life activities and functioning. It is also important to try to understand how and what shifts occur in their consciousness, thinking, and what factors affect each pupil.
