FORMATION OF SOCIAL COMPETENCE FOR FUTURE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS BY MEANS OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES

The article deals with the peculiarities of the formation of social competence of future foreign language teachers by means of volunteer activities. It is emphasized that one of the important components of the professional competence of future foreign language teachers is social competence aimed at ensuring effective interaction between people and the social environment to help solve various social problems.

The essence of the concepts of “competence”, “social competence” and “volunteer activity” has been clarified.

It was found that social competence is considered as a complex personality quality, which includes a system of knowledge, skills, attitudes, value orientations and behavioral components, which involves the ability and ability to build a system of relationships and communication with the surrounding people, taking into account the social situation.

It has been established that volunteering is a voluntary selfless socially beneficial activity; one of the forms of charity and one of the foundations of civil society; a way of supporting, caring for, and providing assistance to members of the community; interaction between people for the joint development of new ways of solving problems that arise.

The main advantages of volunteer activity in terms of the formation of social competence of future foreign language teachers are highlighted, which is the result of assimilation and active reproduction of social experience by the future specialist through activity, communication, interaction and contributes to the formation of the ability to gain experience in solving various social problems, initiate and select resources for this purpose, to bear responsibility, as well as to show tolerance and empathy towards others.
