EMOTIONAL AND ETHICAL COMPETENCE OF A PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER AS A PSYCHOLOGISTA PEDAGOGICAL PROBLEM

Abstract

The essence of the concepts of emotional intelligence, emotional competence, ethical competence and emotionaland ethical competence of an elementary school teacher have been revealed in the article based on the analysis of psychological-pedagogical and legal sources.

The relevance of the mentioned question in the context of the tasks of the New Ukrainian School has been proven. It was found that in the scientific works of both foreign and Ukrainian scientists, the emotional and ethical competence of the individual is considered as an integrated concept based on the content characteristics of emotional and ethical competences.

It was established that emotional competence is a dynamic combination of views, values, knowledge about emotions, the ability to express, understand, manage one's own emotions and the emotional state of students, personal qualities that form the ability to successfully organize the educational process on an emotional basis, the principles of empathy, respect, and cooperation. Emotional intelligence is the basic basis for its formation. Some researchers of the problem of emotional competence of the individual assume that, in contrast to emotional intelligence, motivation as a directed activity of the individual is a specific component of emotional competence.

It is specified that the ethical competence of the teacher presents the level of formation of moral values and principles of the individual and is manifested in the ability to react in various psychological and pedagogical situations without violating the norms of pedagogical ethics.

It has been proven that the emotional and ethical competence of a teacher of a general secondary education institution is one of the professional competences and consists in the ability to be aware of personal sensations, feelings and emotions, needs, to manage one's own emotional states; the ability to constructively and safely interact with the participants of the educational process.
