SVITLANA MAKSYMIUK’S PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF PEDAGOGY THE DEPARTMENT AT RIVNE STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE HUMANITIES

The article is devoted to the analysis of Svitlana Petrivna Maksymiuk’s life and creative way. of identifies and substantiates the main stages of her development as a teacher during her work at the Department of Pedagogy of Rivne State University of the Humanities. For the first time, the main stages of her development as a teacher at the Pedagogy Department at Rivne State University of the Humanities have been identified and substantiated.

The scientific and pedagogical achievements of Svitlana Petrivna have been singled out and characterised, and on this basis the directions of her scientific and pedagogical activity have been determined.

The scientific, theoretical and methodological ideas of S. Maksymiuk in the field of pedagogy, which influenced the development of the theory and practice of national education and upbringing have been characterized.

The author analyzed her textbook ‘Pedagogy’ for higher education students, that reveals the diversity of pedagogy as a science, the factors influencing the development of school education, and represents the historical aspect of shaping the content of education not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

The textbook contains theoretical knowledge of didactics, school science, theory and methods of education, methodological work of teachers and classroom teachers, the correct use of forms, methods and innovative technologies for working with the classroom. Considerable attention is paid to the educational aspect of student development, namely, national and patriotic education, formation of the Ukrainian soul, character, worldview, and integral personality of a Ukrainian citizen.

The essence of the concepts of self-education and re-education is theoretically substantiated, and the ways to improve the level of education are revealed. A theoretical description of the significance of the pedagogical heritage of prominent teachers, creators of pedagogical ideas of V. O. Sukhomlynskyi, A. S. Makarenko, J. A. Komenskyi and others was made.

The cooperation of the scientist with teachers of Rivne and Rivne region schools have revealed, and the study of advanced pedagogical experience carried out by S. Maksymiuk have been analyzed.
