Abstract

The article deals with the approaches to assessing the professional competence of IT-specialists in the process of their training at Universities. The relevance of the topic is due to the rapid development of the IT-industry, increased requirements for the quality of professional training of specialists, as well as the need for systematic monitoring of the formation of their competencies. The study proposes an approach to comprehensive assessment based on a combination of three methods: expert assessment of an electronic portfolio, analysis of academic performance results, and self-assessment of professional competence through a questionnaire. Each of the methods allows to assess the level of professional knowledge, skills and personal qualities from different perspectives. The methodology and logic of experimental work on researching the level of professional competence of IT specialists were determined. Based on the results obtained, individual profiles of professional competence of IT specialists are developed, which makes it possible to identify both strengths and weaknesses in the training of students. This approach contributes to informed decision-making regarding the correction of the educational process, personalization of learning, and the formation of recommendations for further professional development. The proposed methodology can be adapted for use in other specialties and at different stages of professional training, which ensures its versatility and practical significance.
