PARENTAL CONTROL AS A MEANS OF SHAPING SAFE BEHAVIOR IN THE INTERNET SPACE AMONG CHILDREN OF PRIMARY SCHOOL AGE

The article is devoted to the issue of organizing parental control to shape of safe behavior in the Internet space among primary school children. It is noted that on the one hand, the Internet space expands opportunities for the successful socialization of a child, the development of his interests, needs and preferences, and the culture of communication, and on the other hand, it contributes to the emergence of risks. There were highlighted signs indicating the lack of formation for safe behavior in the Internet space among primary school children as well as the need for increased parental control over children’s being in the Internet space and stimulation of their active participation in real. It is summarized that parental control is a tool designed to limit access by children to dangerous content. It helps parents monitor their child’s online activity, regulate the time of being online, limit access to applications and games that contain content that is inappropriate for the child’s age; set rules for using the Internet and applications, and protect against dangers from cybercriminals or exposure to dangerous content.

Some directions of the teacher’s work are proposed to help parents master the elements of protecting primary school children from dangerous content, among them: raising awareness of online risks and threats to children, the negative consequences of using gadgets as a reward or emotion regulator, as well as knowledge about protection methods; informing parents about age and time restrictions on using child-safe sites, about selecting full-fledged games and programs, the importance of monitoring children's activity on the Internet and supporting them in using Internet resources, etc.
