Abstract

Solving the core tasks of the development of the New Ukrainian School in modern conditions involves a humanistic orientation of education, recognition of the value of the individual, creation of a favorable educational environment for its harmonious development, which actualizes the role of the teacher. The article focuses on the problem of pedagogical skills of a modern teacher in working with children with special educational needs. The sources on the specified problem are analyzed and those of them that are valuable for research are highlighted. The essence of the concept of "mastery" is revealed, various approaches to its interpretation are considered in the light of modern educational requirements. The content and structural elements of the teacher's pedagogical mastery are analyzed. It is noted that the professional activity of a teacher with children with special educational needs involves his systematic self-education and self-improvement, the study and implementation in practice of effective methods and the latest technologies of inclusive education; requires readiness to work in an inclusive environment, the ability to solve complex professional tasks and at the same time develop personal positive traits. Dominant, peripheral and professionally unacceptable qualities in relation to his activity are highlighted. The specifics of a teacher's professional activity in an inclusive educational environment are emphasized, and the main requirements are highlighted. It is noted that a teacher's pedagogical skills are reflected not only during professional activity, but also in scientific and methodological literacy, general cultural level, pedagogical ethics and morality, and values. The emphasis is on the need to form professional competence, develop pedagogical abilities, and improve pedagogical techniques as components of pedagogical skills that serve to provide high-quality educational services, create favorable conditions for learning, upbringing, and personal development.
