The article reveals the essence of the key concepts of the communicative-speaking plane, which underlie the formation of communicative-speech competence of the future teacher of elementary school, their characteristic is revealed or specified. It is proved that the effectiveness of the process of formation of the communicative-speaking competence of the future teacher of elementary school depends on the students’ understanding of the essence of the key concepts of the communicative-speaking plane and the interrelationship between them, the awareness of the need to learn while studying in a higher education institution by a set of special knowledge, skills and qualities, contributing to the successful communication and speech activity of students in the system of primary education. On the basis of the analysis of various scientific sources, it is proposed to interpret the definitions that most fully disclose the content of the concepts.
