The article deals with the analysis non-formal and informal education as new ways for forming personal competencies in modern conditions. It is emphasized that in Ukraine, at the state level, the right of everyone to lifelong learning through formal, non-formal and informal education is defined. The attention is focused on the fact that in the current conditions of society development, non-formal and informal education contribute to the formation of life attitudes of the individual, fill the lack of professional competence. Attention is focused on the need to realize its relevance in the context of continuing education.
The author analyzes the content of non-formal and informal education. It is clarified that non-formal education is education that is institutional, targeted and planned by individuals or organizations providing educational services. The author distinguishes the following forms of non-formal education: full-time (courses, trainings, master classes, seminars, workshops, etc.), and distance (online courses, webinars).
Аt the same time, it is noted that informal education is an individual cognitive activity of an individual that is not organized around program goals or duration and most often does not involve certification. The forms of information education include street universities, one-time lectures, video lessons, media consultations, etc. The activities of the modern All-Ukrainian Street University are analyzed.
