COMPETENCE OF A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER IN THE CONTEXT OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

The article examines the problem of the competence of the physical education teacher in the context of the requirements of the New Ukrainian School (NUS). The theoretical foundations of the readiness of physical education teachers for professional activity in the New Ukrainian School and the specifics of pedagogical activity based on the competence approach were analyzed, and the list of basic competencies that a physical education teacher of the NUS should possess was highlighted.

It was found that the professional activity of physical education teachers of the National Academy of Sciences is aimed at the formation and development of the physical qualities and mental characteristics of the student's personality, a responsible attitude to one's own health, ensuring safety and awareness of the common interests of man and the state, and the development of national identity. The implementation of these requirements requires the teachers of NUS to fundamentally change their approaches to the process of teaching physical education, review the content of lessons, introduce innovative methods, technologies when using known forms in physical education, formative assessment of educational achievements of students of general primary education.

The study of pedagogical conditions for the adaptation of physical education teachers to professional activity in the context of the requirements of the New Ukrainian School requires further development.
