The article identifies a number of leading theoretical constructs of professional and pedagogical training for perspective primary school teachers in a pedagogical college as an institution of professional higher education, among them: a paradigmatic construct of professional and pedagogical training for perspective primary school teachers, which involves changing the traditional mono-paradigm of higher pedagogical education to a poly-paradigm, based on several levels of its construction in the short term; is an innovative construct that provides for the logical unity of humanistic, systemic, personality-oriented, personal activity and competence approaches, cooperation of teachers and students, ensuring their readiness to define and follow the hierarchy of personal educational innovation goals; the potential of the Universities as a relevant construct of professional training for perspective primary school teachers, which involves improving the creative educational environment of the pedagogical college; the formation of a person with a new type of thinking in the process of introducing the New Ukrainian School as an undeniably important construct that actualizes the problem of radical restructuring of the educational process of professional teacher training; a competence construct that actualizes the task of acquiring professional competencies by perspective future primary school teachers; a psychological and pedagogical construct characterized by the widest possible use of the achievements of psychology and pedagogy in educational practice.
