The article highlights the features of teaching terminological vocabulary in the process of studying a professionally oriented foreign language at Universities. Terminology permeates the entire course of foreign language for special purposes in higher education establishments. Students knowledge and mastery of terminological vocabulary plays an important role in achieving the appropriate level of foreign language professional competence in today’s conditions. The primary task of the teacher is to find such forms and methods of terms presentation and processing that would make this process interesting and desirable for higher education students. Therefore, teachers of professionally oriented foreign language must understand the features of terminological vocabulary, ways of semantizing terms in special texts and which exercises can be used to activate professional terms in oral and written speech. The article outlines the didactic aspects of working on the study of terminology. Priority is given to authentic professional texts, which allow to actualize the relationship of all types of language activity, as well as to develop long-term memory during the assimilation of terminological vocabulary. The process of organizing teaching professional terminological vocabulary to applicants for non-language specialties is described. In particular, the stages of such training and various types of lexical exercises necessary to replenish and consolidate the terminological branch vocabulary of the future specialist were considered. The article presents methodological techniques, the creative understanding and application of which will allow organizing interesting and productive educational activities for students of Universities at practical classes.
